I am a queer Registered Social Worker (MSW) with extensive experience in clinical mental heath settings, crisis intervention, concurrent disorders and suicide prevention work. I have had the privilege of supporting clients with depression, grief, gender identity exploration, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, coming out support, and substance misuse using a harm reduction approach. I understand the impact of systemic inequality, capitalism, intersectionality, minority stress, resilience and how this could show up in our work together.
My lens is trauma informed, queer affirmative, feminist, while incorporating modalities of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic practices, mindfulness techniques and harm reduction. I attempt to facilitate an egalitarian approach between client and therapist and take a non-pathologizing approach to mental health.
Taking the first step towards therapy can be daunting, I offer a free 15 - minute session to see if we are a good fit for one another. I welcome people from all backgrounds, and I am honoured to meet all the parts that make up who you are.
